Taxi Service in Ledgewood, NJ — 24/7 Cabs Two Miles from Our Base
Ledgewood is the part of Roxbury Township where the roads meet. Route 10 ends at US 46 here, at the spot older drivers still call the Ledgewood Circle, and much of the township’s traffic passes through on its way somewhere else.
Step off the highway onto Main Street, though, and Ledgewood is one of the most historic corners of Morris County. It is also about two miles from our yard at 512 Logan Drive in Landing — about as close as a customer can be.
Ledgewood taxi and car service fares
Agreed before the car leaves the yard two miles away, and unchanged whatever the junction traffic does.

The King Store and the Main Street museums
The Ledgewood Historic District is three museums side by side on Main Street. The King Store, at 209 Main Street, is a two-and-a-half-storey building of rubble stone put up in 1815 by Woodruff and Hopkins. Next door at 211 is the King Homestead, a Queen Anne house of 1878 set in a two-acre yard, and beside them stands the Silas Riggs House.
They are small and easy to miss from the highway. A drop on Main Street rather than at the shopping plazas on Route 46 is the only instruction the driver needs.
Inclined Planes 2 and 3 East
Just behind Main Street are the remains of the Morris Canal’s Inclined Planes 2 and 3 East — the ramps that hauled canal boats up and over the hills on rails — with a long dry stretch of canal bed and a basin that still holds water. Plane 2 East has recently been restored, and the Scotch reaction turbine that once powered Plane 3 East now sits on display at Hopatcong State Park.
It makes for an easy afternoon walk. We drop at the Main Street end and collect when you are done.
Where Routes 10 and 46 meet
The Circle is gone, but the junction still shapes every Ledgewood trip. Route 46 runs east towards Kenvil and Dover and west towards Netcong; Route 10 heads south-east through Succasunna towards Randolph and Whippany. The shopping plazas cluster around the junction.
When you book, tell us which side of the junction you are on and which plaza or road. It saves the driver a U-turn on a busy highway.
The route we drive to Newark Airport
From Ledgewood to EWR is about 36 miles. We join I-80 east a few minutes away, then I-287 south and NJ-24 east, or take Route 10 if the interstate is backed up.
- Before 6:00 AM — about 50 minutes.
- 7:00 to 9:30 AM — 75 minutes is a safe allowance.
- 4:00 to 7:00 PM — 75 to 80 minutes door to terminal.
Plan on leaving three and three-quarter hours before a domestic flight departing before 9 AM, and four and a half before an international one.

Booking a taxi in Ledgewood
Call (973) 306-7075 at any hour. For Main Street or the museums, say so; for the plazas, name the store; for home, the street.
Same-day rides are rarely a problem at two miles. For an airport run, book the evening before so your driver and time are fixed.
Ledgewood to New York City
A train into the city means Dover first, or the limited service from Lake Hopatcong station. For a group or a late return, a direct car is from $165 one-way, tolls added at the end.
Around the clock, two miles away
We are open every hour of every day. For Ledgewood that mostly means pre-dawn airport starts and late-evening rides home from the highway restaurants.
On a snowy morning a car from the next village is far more reliable than one that has to cross the county first.
Local fares around Ledgewood
Short rides are quoted flat before you get in: to Succasunna and the Roxbury Mall, to Landing and the lake, along Route 46 to Kenvil or Netcong, or into Dover.
Why book us instead of a rideshare app
We are in the next village. The fare is set before you go, the car is assigned rather than searched for, and the driver knows the junction, the plazas and Main Street without looking at a screen.

A Sprinter van takes up to twelve — family airport trips, parties and weddings. We keep to the timings and arrive early.
