Taxi Service in Budd Lake, NJ — 24/7 Cabs from New Jersey’s Largest Natural Lake

    Get a Quote

Budd Lake is the northern half of Mount Olive Township, out at the north-western edge of Morris County, and it is named for the largest natural lake in New Jersey. Interstate 80, Route 46 and Route 206 all cross the township, which makes Budd Lake easy to get out of — and a long way from the airports once you do.

It is also very close to us. Our base at 512 Logan Drive in Landing is about six miles east, so Budd Lake is effectively a neighbouring town. That combination — near our cars, far from Newark — is exactly why a pre-booked fixed fare makes more sense here than almost anywhere else in the county.

Budd Lake taxi and car service fares

Quoted before you ride and held to. It is a long run to the airports from here, so a fixed price matters more than usual — no surge, no meter.

    Newark Liberty (EWR)from $125
    JFKfrom $205
    LaGuardia (LGA)from $175
    Philadelphia (PHL)from $239

    Manhattan / NYCfrom $165

Executive SUV adds $40–50. Sprinter van for up to twelve adds $90–110. Hourly from $79 per hour, three-hour minimum. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available — ask for it when you book.

Tolls and tax are not included and are added at the end of the trip. Gratuity is at your discretion. We tell you the toll cost up front.

The longest airport run we make regularly

From Budd Lake it is roughly 40 miles to Newark Liberty. We take Route 46 or I-80 east, then I-287 south and NJ-24 east to the terminals. That distance changes the planning more than any other town we cover.

    • Before 6:00 AM — about 50 minutes with clear roads.
    • 7:00 to 9:30 AM — I-80 east fills from Netcong onwards and then I-287 south slows. Budget 75 to 80 minutes.
    • 4:00 to 7:00 PM — the same corridors plus terminal traffic. Budget 80 minutes.

For a flight before 9 AM, leave three and three-quarter hours ahead for domestic and four and a half for international. It sounds cautious. It is simply what 40 miles of I-80 and I-287 in the morning costs.

    The lake itself

Budd Lake is a glacial lake of about 374 acres and, unusually for its size, it is shallow — no more than about twelve feet at its deepest. It is also the source of the South Branch of the Raritan River, which goes on to supply drinking water to roughly 1.5 million people in New Jersey, which is why the lake and the bog beside it are watched and protected as closely as they are.

For us, the lake mostly means geography. Houses wrap around the shoreline on roads that loop rather than grid, so a lake address with the wrong side of the water is a ten-minute detour. Tell us which shore you are on and it is not.

Budd Lake and Flanders: two halves of Mount Olive

Mount Olive Township splits into two halves: Budd Lake to the north around the lake and Route 46, and Flanders, the older village, to the south towards Route 206. Plenty of people give one as their address and live closer to the other.

We cover both at the same rates, and a short run between them is a local flat fare. If you are not sure which one Google thinks you live in, give us the street and we will sort it out.

Route 46 and getting around locally

Route 46 is Budd Lake’s main road — the shops, services and most local traffic sit along it, with the lake neighbourhoods on either side. It is a road built for driving, not for walking between a supermarket and a side street with bags.

Local rides are quoted flat before you get in: around the lake, down to Flanders, across to Netcong or Hackettstown, or over to Landing and Roxbury. Several of those are short enough that the only real reason to book is not having a car free.

Who rides with us in Budd Lake

A lake town at the far edge of the county produces a particular set of trips:

    • Airport travellers for whom forty miles at 5 AM is not a drive they want to do themselves, then pay a week of airport parking for.
    • Lake households sharing one car, especially in winter.
    • Commuters who need a car to a station further east rather than leaving their own there all day.
    • Evenings out in Hackettstown, Roxbury or further into the county.
    • Older residents heading to Saint Clare’s in Dover or Hackettstown Medical Center.

Booking a taxi in Budd Lake

Call (973) 306-7075 at any hour. Give us the address and which side of the lake you are on — the shoreline roads loop, and a driver on the wrong side of the water is a driver you are waiting for.

Because we are six miles away, same-day local bookings are easy. For an airport run, book the night before — with a 40-mile run ahead, the pickup time is not something to be negotiating at 4 AM.

Budd Lake to New York City

Direct to Manhattan is from $165 one-way with tolls added at the end. From this far west the train means driving east to a station first and parking, then a long ride in; for two or more people, a late return, or luggage, a car door-to-door is usually the simpler day.

Early mornings, late nights and winter

We dispatch twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. At the north-western edge of the county, app drivers are scarce before dawn and an airport booking from Budd Lake is one many of them simply will not accept. A booked car is held for you.

Winter matters here too. The lake roads and the climb out of the valley are the first to ice. If snow is forecast, tell us when you book and we will add time rather than cutting your airport margin on the morning.

Local fares around Mount Olive and Roxbury

Short runs are quoted flat before you ride. Budd Lake to Flanders, to Netcong, to Landing, Ledgewood or Succasunna — all close to our base and all priced as the local trips they are. Crossing from Mount Olive into Roxbury does not change the rate card.

Why book us instead of a rideshare app

From Budd Lake the difference is blunt. A 40-mile airport run on surge pricing at 4 AM can cost far more than the quote you would get from us the night before. The car is assigned in advance, so you are not hoping someone accepts a long trip from the edge of the map. And the driver is based six miles away, not heading out from somewhere near the city.

    Groups, weddings and occasions

A Sprinter van takes up to twelve, which on a 40-mile airport run turns three cars and three parking bills into one vehicle. For weddings and lake-side occasions we work to the timings rather than the mileage and arrive early rather than on time.

Coming back to Budd Lake from the airport

Book the return with the outbound. Give us the flight number and we track it — land two hours late and the car is still there at the agreed fare. Forty miles home at midnight, possibly in winter, is precisely the trip that should already be arranged before you board.

    Our Fleet Includes:

    • Luxury sedan — up to three passengers with luggage.
    • Executive SUV — up to six passengers, room for extra bags.
    • Sprinter van — up to twelve passengers for groups and events.
    • Wheelchair-accessible vehicle — available on request when you book.

The questions Budd Lake callers actually ask.

How much is a taxi from Budd Lake to Newark Airport?

From $125 one-way in a sedan, confirmed at booking. It is roughly 40 miles via Route 46 or I-80, I-287 and NJ-24 — about 50 minutes before 6 AM and 75 to 80 in the morning peak. Tolls and tax are added at the end.

Three and three-quarter hours before a domestic departure and four and a half for international. Budd Lake is the longest regular airport run we make, and the morning delays on I-80 and I-287 add up over that distance.

Our base in Landing is about six miles east, so Budd Lake is effectively a neighbouring town for us. Local same-day bookings are easy; airport runs are still best booked the night before.

Yes — they are the two halves of Mount Olive Township and we cover both at the same rates. A short run between them is a local flat fare.

Yes. It is a glacial lake of about 374 acres, only around twelve feet deep at most, and it is the source of the South Branch of the Raritan River.

Tell us when you book if snow or ice is forecast and we will add time to the pickup rather than cutting your margin. The lake roads are among the first to ice.

Yes, twenty-four hours, seven days a week, including holidays. Pre-dawn airport runs are the most common Budd Lake booking we take.

Yes, and booking both legs together is worth it here. Give us the flight number and we track it, so a delayed landing does not lose you the car or change the price.

A sedan takes up to three with luggage, an executive SUV up to six, and a Sprinter van up to twelve. On a 40-mile airport run the van usually beats taking two cars.

The fare is fixed when you book, which matters on a 40-mile run; the car is assigned in advance, so a pre-dawn booking from the edge of the county actually gets a driver; and the driver is based six miles away.
